I definitely like the CC license–if you aren’t sure what the symbols mean, you just click on the image for further explanation.  What happens, though, when something is labeled as a “free to use” image, but you are pretty sure it isn’t?  This happened to me recently when one of my teachers used a CC search and found a trademarked image she wanted to use for a student council t-shirt design.

I knew that it wasn’t free to use, but to the novice middle school student or teacher, even–how do you explain that common sense piece?  She is thoroughly confused and frustrated with me; finally our legal department had to tell her not to use the picture of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
